Ok, real question. Do you guys find the mudders limiting in any way? I mean in the way you can grip it? I've found it just a tiny bit bothersome a few times, but that may just be unique to me and the way I handle it sometimes. Blasphemy I know, but I find myself liking the Wardog handle better than the mudders.

Sorry guys but I never warmed up to the mudders, I sold my S5( ) because of them. Of course I am very willing to try them again

It's not blasphemy, Skunk.
I do not personally like a mudder on a utility blade. I also sold my S5 because of this. To me, it is ideal on a fighting style knife, like the SS4. I also sold my RMD because the handle didn't fit my hands (talk about blasphemy). Reality is that not everything can fit everyone....but I believe the WarDog handle is an effort to disprove my theory.
I had a daydream today....the SYKCO 3-11 with the large basic handle. Wonder what that little beast would've been like?

That's what the SS4 reminds me most of, a fighting knife. Maybe that's another reason I like it so well. That and the fact that is just looks so.... PERFECT! I mean it's proportioned just right handle to blade, and the mudders just scream HOLD ME! And I would, but...... Oh well, the 311 will be a goodun as well!

The Mudder handle makes my hand feel like its contorting kinda strangely. Now the 311 small basic handle may be a tad tiny. But some light sanding will open the handle space up more. And I am pretty sure that wouldn't void the warranty. By the way yall. Protos are subject to change at any time...

well I love mudders and could use them all day as a utility blade. never once experienced any weirdness when it comes to holding a mudder handle. if fact its opposite. very natural in my hands. the only thing I ever noticed was that the S5LE I have is a we'd but from heavy which probably makes it a better fighting blade. the SS4 and Muk are perfect utility blades and I wouldn't change a single thing about either one of those except release quantities. If Dan was to change the handle on the 411 like this I think it would just about break my heart.
Im a tinkerer and plan to add a blade like 311 to the my tools since I've found myself grabbing the Muk or SS4. I literally smash my hands quite a bit because things slip. have held these blades in a lot of ways I shouldn't have and risked injuring myself but the mudder handles have always been reliable and provided for good grip. so far have never let me down. It may be due more to the ResC properties but if something works I like to stick with it. I would probably stick kidder handles on everything if I could. And I'm hopin one day we will see a magnum mudders of a 7 inch recurve blade. like the Yard version of a EU Mr. Mojo.
I have only held a couple bladed with the small basic style handles and they where too small for my liking. I still hope to add one to the collection but it may become a queen if it's anything time I remember.
look forward to seeing some 311 reviews...

After reading your post. I recall it seems like the S5 was the only thing that felt a little odd in the hand. I did like the Muk and the Mudd Puppy alot. Maybe the forward weight on the S5 was what I didn't like?

Mudders are my favorite scrap yard handle, it fits my hand perfectly and seems very secure. The S5 and MPLE are my two favorite SYKCO blades.

Now that you guys mention it, the MPLE does NOT feel weird in my hand. Just the S5 and when I had it the Weiner dog. Maybe it IS something to do with the balance.

I'll admit I was disappointed. I actually liked that choil, but I loved the mudders. Was definitely going to get one. When I saw the final picture I thought, wait, I own that knife. It's just a slightly shorter Yard Keeper with better steel. And the Yard keeper is one of the least favorite of my collection. With maybe the exception of the MOD 7.

I was initially hoping for the mudders BUT the more I look at these (and fondle my 511s) the more I am warming up to them. I will get a couple just to make sure... Seems I read Dan say this style handle was going to consistent through the whole '11 range.
