well i read dan's post about the price change on the 7-11's last week and i couldn't pass up a good deal. so today i get home from work and there it is laying on my bed.(apparently my brother had to open the box and pay with it before i go home.)
man this thing is sweet. razor sharp too, sharpened by denny, that's a nice touch. my only complaint is that i never go my email from renee saying it shipped. oh well, she's a busy girl, no biggie.

Dang, I missed out getting it at the less expensive price. Dang computer blew up, and missed the notice. I suppose it's still a good deal, but wonder if I would be better off with a 911? What do you guys think, for an all around knife; 711 or 911?

All 'rounder? 711. Just an opinion based on a few decades of experience toting around a KaBar USMC knife. I just got my 711 and convexed the edge. Good length for camp chores, not too wide and not too thick. Makes me wish my TT Regulator was the same thickness. I've had it in the bush once already for a couple of days and it has performed as expected. No complaints here and I've always EDCed a 7"+ blade paired with a good folder.

Dom, JUST my personal opinion, which doesn't really amount to that much is.....Get the 711 for an allrounder. Yes the 911 will be a better chopper, but you said an all round do everything knife. The 711 will chop, and it will also do some things with just a bit more finesse. IF you don't need a chopper, go with the 711, I don't think you'll regret it. Now that you've heard MY 4.5 cents (adjusted for todays inflation rate) figure out which will carry easier for you, and what you will realistically be using it for most. All around camp type chores or clearing out a forest. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
