i'm gonna be in the market for a new tent this spring and as swanky and feature packed the commercial tents are, most of their colours are not very tactical.

i've been poking around and the camouflaged tents i do come across have little to no reviews. anyone in the yard have experience in this matter? i could use some pointing i the right direction <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

I have the USMC 2 Man tent and have used it on many deployments to many undesirable places. I have nothing but good things to say about it, but it is on the heavy side. In the summertime, I prefer my Hennessy Hammock to save weight and comfort.

...I have one as well and it is a great bit of gear, like JHJ says they are a bit on the heavy side though. I have also just packed the fly and poles from mine and set it up like this. Just fine in the majority of moderate weather.

if it is just you, it's tough to beat the hammock for true 3-season versatility (four-season if you are not going to see much snow, or willing to put up with a lot of discomfort). For 100% reliability in ALL conditions, ultra-lightweight, and blends in surprisingly well in most areas and unbelievably well in any wooded area, a Kifaru Tipi will be near impossible to beat (but very spendy). Mission drives the gear, what are you looking to do? Where are you looking to go? How will you get there? What are your resource limits?
