Perhaps some of you remember me becoming a member here after Dan's magnificent reaction to Scrap Yards putting the War Dog for sale for the second time by mistake. You might also remember that that blade was to be my threshold SYKCo (and Res-C handled) knife. Well I'm very happy to announce that as of this afternoon and thanks to a very understanding and easy going fellow on BFC, this has now become a reality! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

It still sports the original cardboard sheath and that yellow plastic expandable diamond wire wrapping thingy. And off course it shows the Scrap Yard logo, non of that HACK nonsense for me!! It's supposed to be used but I'm having a hard time finding the marks. My first impression of the blade is that it's a clean and pretty design, very much screaming to be used, but so capable of dealing with said use that it just doesn't show. Forward balance (which I like!) and the Res-C feels a bit warm to the touch. Well, I off playing with it some more. I just wanted to let you guys know!

Late welcome to the yard.

I love my War Dog. It piggy backs on my Dog Father on my camping pack. Sweet little blade.

That last pic reminds me the time this last year when sf45acp and I were out in muzzleloading season. A horrible chain of events led to us chasing a deer that I had shot the leg off of through the woods and into a creek. Fording the icy waters in our hunting clothes we each took turns shivving the beast with the War Dog until we were able to hit its lungs. We backed out and let nature and the freezing water take its course. One of the roughest workouts hunting I've ever had, that's for sure. Strangely, that's NOT the first time I've had to kill a deer in hand-to-hand combat <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
