Never underestimate a Zombie. If you want to have some fun, IF you can ever find a combat shoot where they aren't to full of themselves, and will let you, enter one. It's a lot of fun and I guarantee, will make you a VERY humble person once you review how you did through the course.

how long is the barrel on your pistol and how many magazines do you have? Short 3.5" and 2 ten round mags. I'm going to grab a couple more mags. I'm sure nowhere near as accuarate as a Mark series or the Brownings, but I wanted somthing smaller/lighter and easy to break down.

Like was said earlier though, be careful of developing bad habits. The trigger break should be a surprise when you are target practicing, and concentrate on the FRONT sight. The front sight should be in focus with the rear sight and the target sort of fuzzy. Or do Like JJ and get a dot sight.

I've been working both of those concepts hard and i think it's helping. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Just wanted to let folks know I did take the class- just recently though, I've been away every other time it was offered. I was pleased to get some feedback and have a couple things tweaked.
I probably am already to bail out on my SR22 in favor over a real shooters 22 like a Buckmark. I probably have a good 2000-2500 rounds out so far and am feeling ready to get a 9mm too. My range closes for my membership level for 2 months, but it's been a lot of fun getting out about weekly.

I hope you do end up going with the buckmark, its one of the best firearm purchases I've made.

Congrats on your new hobby <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I started shooting handguns recently too and to my surprise found that I was a lot more accurate with a larger caliber. I can't hit anything using a 9mm, but a .40 or .45 I'm pretty accurate with.
My point is that you say you feel ready for a 9mm, but don't make a decision and buy something until you've rented as many different calibers and brands as you can at your range to find what suits you best.

I'm 95% of the way there for a Glock 19...I've been having a little detour looking at CZ's though... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Love my CZ 75B. Good solid feel. All steel - no polymer.
