Big title...little chop off! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Here we have one I think Pit will love- 'cause it's a thin 6" small chopper and my Camp Tramp. I've always been interested in Dave Farmers work and lucked into two. This chopper is too cool...on to the pics! Check these two out-

Now, the contestants...quite a size difference..

Thin is in!

After 15 wacks...pretty equal

Man...this stuff was HARD!!! Res c helped for comfort...but...they are on par!

After a bunch of green stuff...a tie still!

I wonder if the ability to grip to the rear helped a lot?

Same pic I know, but see those stakes? I thought "I'll try some fine work for a goof- the CT shines here." You know what? The little Farmer did better!!!

Sucker is s-h-a-r-p!

Does a bunch!

Check this easy cut...

I am amazed! This small light chopper does the job! Got my CT a bit worried!

Not much I know...something to look at!

Nice! I've wondered about the ability of a well-heat treated thin blade to compare to a thicker chopper. I assume the DF is a LOT lighter than the CT

That's sweet buddy, Dave's knives carve like lasers eh. I have one of his camp knives and it's my go to knife for food prep when camping !

I was waiting for you to come along Pit! Thought this chopper would be your style. I'm loving it.

It's opening day tomorrow for fishing and the little chopper and weiner dog are coming along.

Is that some of his O1 stuff -- I know that's what Farmer normally uses, but he also makes some L6 knives? David's knives prompted me to ask about how "good" O1 was on a couple forums. His tribal wraps don't really do it for me, but I have a few of his wood handled knives, and they're one of the, "Is it really that much better than ..." comparisons that I make when considering whether to buy a more expensive custom.

This is L6...which I know nothing about. He said it holds a good edge and will do great with a strop.

I love the tribal and rough finish with his stuff, Rick Marchand's too...has a simplicity that speak to me. I think they are the sharpest knives I've ever received...that includes spydercos.

L6 is saw blade steel, like you mention it holds a great edge and for some reason my L6 knife throws the best sparks from my ferro-rods !

Figured I would post this as well. Prepping a pernil (pork shoulder) and I'm seperating the skin/fat...the Muk is better than most of my kitchen knives but the Farmer went through like nothing...wow..and yumm....

That chopper has the same blade profile as my BIG COUNTRY Kampr (?) I actually like that blade shape unless you NEED a point.
