Glad to have ya back Vic. We all missed you. I think that I will pass on any 6 inch blades. Just got a whole passel of 5 and 7 inchers that do me fine. I DO hope Dan sells a ton of them though.

TG!!!!
  no..
  Get Both!!
The TG is what it is - a combat knife that is versatile enough to handle... Well anything.
The R6 seems a bit confused. I don't think the spine side guard really makes sense on the knife. On the other hand, I really don't think that it will get in the way: The TG guard is bigger and it really doesn't get in the way.

I'm glad to see you back here too Vic!! I've read a lot of your posts, but haven't had the pleasure of conversing with you. I agree with Randy as far as the 6" blade range. I have a bunch in the 5"-8" range and only use a couple. I don't have the luxury of ED carrying a blade over 2.5", so when I do go into the woods, I generally only use my little/big setups. Best of luck with your decision! The good news is you likely have a lot of time to make your decision. I would order both and make your decision over the next month. You could always sell the one that you like less.

Vic, good to see and here from you again.
My idea on the Rodent 6 is that is to close to the TG which I was not enamored with. I might regret it at a later date but right now in my families medical situation use/need is in order over want. Many of you guys know what I am talking about. Now if I were deploying or working a job where I could carry a 6" blade everyday the R6 would be a viable option.

Like Randy noted, you're still in our prayers.

I was waiting for a 6"...just don't like those top quillions.... Grind it off! Oh sure, the EASY solution. Problem is, I 1) don't have a grinder and 2) don't really know what I'm doing. Would rather not ruin a perfectly good knife in my learning curve <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> That would have been the solution for the M9 handle too...

Couldn't justify the price of a TGLB so I custom ordered a Rodent 6 for about half the price.

Both great knives. If the R6 had spacers to fatten up the grip a bit it would feel even better to me. I'd throw the 711 into the mix also. Same steel as the R6, a bit longer blade, the Res-C handle feels awesome, and is the least expensive of the three. If I could keep only one that's the way I'd probably go (at least today). Can't lose anyway you you choose though.
