I got back to the office after visiting a local radio station and found this on my desk. Not the doll, not the ammo box, not the grenade, but the Kabar BK-5.

I never knew post cards were made of steel and Micarta.

Thank you, kind sir. I have an old school Kabar hanging on a plaque I got when I graduated Corporals Course, but this one I will use.

My sergeant major walked in right after I opened the package. I told him the story about it how it was supposed to be a postcard.

He said,

"That ain't no post card. That's a murder weapon. You better hide that &%$# or you may become an accessory to murder."

Not sure I expressed my gratitude properly.

I will cherish this thing. Not just because it is a Kabar and Marines have a genetic code making us predisposed to having affection to Kabars, but because it was given out of kindness.
