That picture of the Dogfather bending got me thinking how far will the 911 bend? I know its too soon for any of us to actually know but I am curious what the senoir dogs around here think.

I would guess not as far. But then, I wouldn't try it unless it was a do or die situation. And then I wouldn't care if it was bent or not.

That is a good point. I must admit, although I am really curious, I really could't even think of a real life situation where I would bend any knife that far. Maybe someone has put their Rodent 9 through some type of lateral stress test they would like to share and give the reason why they did it. I did see a bend test of an ESEE Junglas. It went pretty far but it broke.

Same here and lets hope that Do or Die situation never comes, But if it does you'll be ready I'm sure.

Oh yeah, like that's what I do with a chopper, put it in a vise with a cheater bar and see how far it bends. Man, just chop with the sucker.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I'm tending to agree with HD, go chop with it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I am sure the Busse folks have tested the new 911, or they will soon. I am equally confident that I am not strong enough to bend a .25" thick steel blade very far in normal use. You're right. That Waki is SR101 too, and it is amazingly tough. Will the new 911 bend as far as the DF did? I guess that's what folks are wondering. I have faith that Busse's heat treat will make it plenty tough for anything I would do with it.

I use my choppers to pry the hatches off of Soviet tanks. I need to know how much lateral stress this thing can take. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Wasn't the waki test video on YouTube of a waki made of sr101?
