I have a Dogfather CG that I want to piggyback a smaller knife with. I am looking hard at the 511 but I think a little smaller blade for bushcraft style use might be even better. I am also looking at the Rodent4, but the the handle on the X11 series matches my DF and I like the looks of it better. Should I wait to see if and when the 411 will be available? Will it have the same handle as the rest of the series? If so, does anyone have a guess when it will be released?

Not confirmed, but 411 was supposed to have the mudder handle so your theory of matching handles might need to b scrapped if you wait for 411. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

I'm thinking I will get the 511. When the 411 becomes available, I'll try it out and if I like it better it should'nt be to hard to move the 511 to a new home.

Have you even considered the 311? It would make a GREAT companion piece in my humble opinion.

Yes, I have considered the 3-11, I was just wanting the blade a little longer than my EDC folder which is a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 that has a 3-1/2" blade. I just wish I could hold them all in my hand first before making a decision.

I say both, and then let the least wanted go... Or go on the look out for a Yardkeeper it ou want a 4" 'er with the basic handle.

I say buy the 511 for now and when the 411 is available get that to and an other piggy back sheath. Then you can switch when ever you want and still have both. Or get the 911 with the 411 and that would be a sweet setup too.
