A friend of mine from high school guides on the lower Rogue River in my home town of Gold Beach, OR. This is a picture taken yesterday of one of his clients with a 40lb Spring Chinook.

He had two clients on board and they both got their limit of two fish.

Awesome fish. What are they like to fish for and catch? They have got to be fun!

What a great catch!

I'll be honest. The first thing I noticed, and this really blew my mind, was the LONG SLEEVES IN JUNE!!!!!

WOW. One catch = fish tacos all summer!

Also, I'm with SP. Here in TX, all long sleeve attire has an inch layer of dust on top of it right now.

Springers on the Rogue, sure brings back memories. I lived in Brookings for several years and fished the Rouge many times. Rogue Springers are the best there is.

You are correct sir, best eating Salmon in the world.

Brookings ehh, I was born and raised just North in Pistol River and went to school in Gold Beach.

I sure loved the time I spent there, and hope to get back in a few years. I did a bit of black tail and bear hunting up Pistol River. Had a place in Bandon for a while also. There's nothing like the Oregon Coast.

Nice fish! If they were kenai kings they'd be considered small...crazy.

WOW! Those are some nice fish...

What kind of lure/bait do you catch them with? Trolling?

I had the opportunity to do some King Salmon fishing in Alaska last year... I thought they were big. Until now.

I don't understand why we have the right to arm bears, but not dogs... weird.
