Boss Dog, what is the warranty on the Max and/or other skinny models that may come out in the ELMAX steel? Reason I ask is due to 0.090" stock thickness, coupled with the 60-62 Rc and super thin edge, could pose breakage issues that are invalid in the 3/16" and 1/4" thick steels.

Many thanks in advance.

I was wondering this. I can't imagine it has the same warranty as a combat grade dumpster mutt.

Myself, I would expect that if I used it for a screwdriver or pry bar, I'm on my own.

Guys...don't get too wrapped up in this. Dan doesn't publish this lightly:

Our guarantee is simple. We warrant your knife against any and all unintentional MAJOR damage for life. The Scrap Yard guarantee is on the knife and NOT just for the original owner.

There is nothing here regarding only applies to special knives, etc. Dan wouldn't sell a knife if it didn't fit his own expectations. The key for me defining "unintentional". I don't personally expect the Scrap Max to be a prybar.

Also, let us not forget that hardness values hardly tell the whole story...there is much more to materials science than a simple RC.

I'd say let common sense rule here......The Scrapyard team always help a dog out if a knife breaks during use but in saying that don't abuse this fact.

If you buy a thin knife like the Max, common sense says not to use it like a prybar or chisel, there are plenty other Scrapper options if that's what floats your boat !

AFAIR the harder Scrapivore LE had a limited warranty?

That being said, Elmax is uncommonly tough with edge holding to boot

I had forgotten any restrictions set forth on the LE Scrapivore. Point duly noted.
