Practical or tactical? So if you were dropped in the middle of no where which would you take? To the guys who went to blade which did you like and what are the projected price of each one?

Middle of nowhere? Neither. A good hatchet would be way more practical.

Kill Devil Hawk
The Rattle Hawk looks cool, But I know the sharpened spike would end up poking my eye out.
I can't wait to see what sheeth options people come up with.
Also why isn't it in SR77?

The Kill Devil Hawk was tested by some Navy Seals, one of which was at Blade! Also, if you haven't checked out the U-tube video that Jerry posted a link to...you should do so. Looks like Beef chopped down a tree, then really worked over a car with it. Even Pokey got a few shots in testing it. It also costs about $120.00 less than the Rattlehawk. In the poll, I said the Kill Devil!

For tactical, aka self defense/combat) I think the KD would be the best option. It seems lighter, and better suited as a combatants TOOL, and yes weapon in a pinch. Digging holes through walls uses like that could and have been done in certain situations. Personally I would go with the kill devil unless I was getting it ONLY for defense. Then the Rattle Hawk MIGHT get the nod but I would have to think on it.

Easy choice for me...the Kill Devil has more practical applications.

I agree with you Tom. As a Survival tool, or even a "Ranch" companion the KD wins.

I almost wish that I had passed on the Elmax blades and gotten the KD. Haha, I would have probably gotten more use out of it.
Oh well, wish in one hand and, well you know which one will fill up first.

Might possibly regulate the Elmax to kitchen duty. I haven't hunted in years so the only thing I need to take the skin off store bought chicken and the occasional fat trimming off pork and beef. Oh and slicing up veggies once in a while.

The one holding the Hawk!.................... I'm confused again, a state that I usually stay in for days.
