As I've said before, I had one of the old Charter Arms AR-7 Explorers. Mine ran just fine and like an idiot I swapped it for a 12gauge "Riot" gun I didn't need.

Oh and this would have been back in the late 70's.

I like my Henry's, but I would grab the Ruger 10/22 takedown with BX25 mags in a heartbeat. Heck, it comes with it's own mini BOB.

The 22/45 lite is sweet too, mine rides with my Basic 9 everywhere I go.

I agree. My buddy has the Henry, and bought it before the takedown 10/22 came out, and he wishes he would have waited.

Man, thats a good price on the TD.

Really disappointed that the AR-7 isn't that reliable, it really seems like the perfect BoB gun. But as I said, probably would never buy one anyway.

Maybe Ruger should copy the idea and make a 10/22 with the same concept of a self contained waterproof and compact package. Everytime it comes down to .22 rifles, the 10/22 shows up as the reference design to a lot of people.

I'm guessing that the design itself of something that tears down this much is just going to be prone to failures and inaccuracy though.

Picked up my Ruger 10/22 takedown yesterday at Cabela's for $289.00 out the door. I was one of the first 600 in line so i received one of the mystery giveaways. Mine was $20 and my buddy got a $5 one.
I guess you could say the 10/22 was $269 out the door as I used the $20 certificate towards the purchase.

Sweet, sportsnut, put up a review after you've messed around with it a little?
