Ok dogs. I have a tan 711 that I love it does almost everything I need it to. I used it all day yesterday ( July 4) clearing my property. I mean kudzu , tree limbs, vines, even batoned to make a fire. The 711 was awesome at all of this then when it came time to feather stick and do meal prep the 711 fell short. Mostly I feel is not the length but the 1/4 inch steel. So I need something to par with the 711 for these task. I would like to stay with the tan Res-c but just feel that a 311 well a great length will just fall short at souch task do to still haveing a 1/4 in blade. So what are the thoughts from the guys who have the 311. I would like to see a tan El-max or even a tan 411 out of the max. Would should I be looking for if not the 311?

N2S, the 311 is 3/16 inch thick if that helps you out any.

Your 711 might just require a little work on the edge buddy, my Chopweiler is the same sized blade yet still shaves hair and makes nice Fuzz sticks !

Like Pit said ( and he KNOWS) thin the edge out just a mite until you get the balance you want between slicing ability and sturdiness.

Already done. I can make fuzz sticks. Just lookin for a companion. To the 711. Try to cut a tomato in thin slices with a 711 or the onion for my burger.

Not the right knife for that. For slicing maters or onions, try a Dog father or MOAB.

For food prep I'd rather the blade be slightly larger than the Mud puppy, you should maybe take a look at the ScrapMuck, SS4 , Rodent 4, Vex or hold fire till Dan releases the 411 !

i really doubt Dan will share future release dates. you have to understand that part of the Busse kin mystique is that you never know when a release date is. the busse kin image has to be such that the companies product is highly sought after and a durable product. this makes the value higher. it is not like sog or gerber where they make the line availible and easy to get but... they are not like some other custom knife makers where you may wait a year or more for your blade.
i think you will agree that Dan and Jerry have built not just a amazing company and product but they have made a brand that draws you in to there family.
