I always liked the shot of the photog using a cinder block wall to support the Canon 1200/5.6

Cinder block wall is about what you need for the 1,200 5.6.
I think it weighs about 45 pounds, and comes with its own tripod.

The first red fox is fairly sharp, second one, not so much.
