I tried using the Scrapmax (blade show edition) to cut up the tomatoes that patty and I made into juice. Didn't really do as well as our cheapie aluminum handled paring knife. It had a lot of resistance getting through the skin, but when the skin was pierced it cut like there was no tomorrow.
I've got it here at work messing with the edge and I THINK I have it a bit better. Maybe I'll find out later on today once I get home.

I use a cheap serrated tomato knife that I got at the flea market. Cuts tomatoes like there's no tomorrow. Not much good for anything else, but best I ever picked up for tomatoes.

I think the Scrapmax will cut better now. Heck, it might be that the edge just wasn't "Grabby" enough.

I'd say that if you wanted to use it as a kitchen knife the finger guard would have to go. Just not enough of the blade to work with as is.The 340 looks more useful for cutting on a flat surface.

Actually the finger guard doesn't bother me.

I asked Tom to send mine to David Brown, had another order at the time, and asked Dave for the thin kydex, I think .063, It's light and for a knife this light and thin I don't need anything sturdier. I'd imagine that whenever I'll have it out with me I'll have a bigger thicker knife with me too.

I'm not the biggest fan of leather sheaths, but then again, never had one of the calibre that Jeff and Dwayne make... Just the cheapo stock ones...

Looks like it "Clicks" into the sheath pretty well. Does the kydex actually kind of wrap around the back of the handle, where the finger guard is?
