I get to go scouting and bear hunting in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area. I have not been backpacking like that for a couple years.
I'm going in light. Hammock, food, water/camelback, steri-pen, stove, fuel, survival kit, first aid kit, gps, compass map handgun/ammo, binoculars, rangefinder and clothes/boots.
And of course my S5LE.

They are making us all meet in an office for the day. Not a retreat more of a really long meeting en-masse. But they call it a retreat to make it sound enjoyable.

I'm scouting my area also. I am hoping the Elk have moved back into the area so I can get their pattern down again. They have been logging the area and its moving them out of their regular yearly patterns plus we have had a bad drought.

Thanks PK. I am looking forward to it. I need to "realign" myself. Spending too much time working on a computers and providing support for medical staff can make you lose touch with reality. I like what I do, but it's good to step back every so often.
The mountains help me hit the reset button of my soul.
