And as for uses... to be honest, Im not looking for any kind of self defense. That and If I brought a gun into the house with our 3yo it would start ww3.
My plan atm is to get the .22Lr

My wife has told me that back when she was younger and single she loved to go shooting. My first step is to get her back to the range to re-kindle things.

Then ill take it from there.

That and my neighborhood so far knock on wood has been nice. Im not being naive and know anything can happen anywhere.

But I have good spidey sense and the whole place is a huge condo community. Lights everywhere and 95 percent of the population is 65 plus. Im not fearing any old timers and young guys walkin around at night arouse suspision.
Now this is only my opinion My daughters were taught firearm safety rules while they were still in diapers, when they were young they helped me clean the guns and they knew any time they wanted to see them they just had to ask I never let there be any mystery around them I also locked up the guns and ammo up separately Even with toy guns they always had to follow safe firearms handling rules

I bought myself a bolt action marlin with a tube magazine. It'll shoot 22lr,22 long, and 22 short. I've been very happy with it. Stainless and synthetic too! Yeah the the 39a golden I was talking about does as well. The difference is that this one is a bolt action, the only one currently available with a tube magazine. Ahh ok you mean this...? Model 981T All Marlin bolt action rimfire rifles feature the new T-900 Fire Control System If you prefer an economically priced, tubed loading repeater with classic looks and features, the Model 981T is the perfect choice. It has a 22" Micro-Groove® barrel, and a black fiberglass-filled synthetic stock with swivel studs and molded-in checkering. And its full length magazine holds 25 Short, 19 Long or 17 Long Rifle catridges. Caliber 22 Short, Long or Long Rifle Capacity Tubular magazine holds 25 Short, 19 Long or 17 Long Rifle cartridges. Action Bolt action; thumb safety; red cocking indicator. Stock Black fiberglass-filled synthetic with full pistol grip; molded-in checkering and swivel studs. Barrel 22" with Micro-Groove® rifling (16 grooves). Twist Rate 1:16" r.h. Sights Adjustable open rear, ramp front. Receiver grooved for scope mount; drilled and tapped for scope bases*. Overall Length 41" Weight 6 lbs. Owner's Manual Download Owner's Manual And the difference being more stability since there is no action during and after the shot like in a mag fed right? Good ol history channel...makin me look like im not a dummy

1903 Enfield. Good luck finding an m14. Best to just get a Springfield m1a. Not cheap though. Yeah thats it the enfield. Looked like a fine gun My first hunting rifle was a lee Enfield in 303 British What did you think of it? How do you like the 1894c? Like I said earlier I am going off of research on it ... no first hand . First off I don't like military rifles a 12 lbs rifle isn't fun to hunt with, did it as a kid, don't plan to do it again I did also have a lee Enfield sport model and wish I had one now The 1894c I bought used about 20 years ago, I have never shot 44 special through it. It has always functioned well except it didn't like cheap pmc ammo Not the most accurate rifle I have owned, but it is fun to shoot I recommend them as a fun gun that you can hunt with I have no personal knowledge of this but I heard that qc has gone down since Remington bought marlin

I think that would be a fine rifle for you rlacan. Ok ...http://www.marlinfirearms.com/Firearms/xt/XT22.asp The only differences between the TR and TSR appear to be one had blued bolt and the other one stainless. Stainledd lokks to have a better sight option. Or did I read all that wrong...

Yes stainless, not sure about better sights but they're okay. The entire front sight blade is orange and it was making my eyes go crossed. I took a sharpie and blackened all but the bead at the top, the results are very satisfactory.
