Can you smell the thread hijack?
Well, here's the deal. You're asking for something that Dan already did for the Yard. Not to say it won't happen again, but Dan used the Challenge Coins as a way to reward JYD's in the Yard at the time of release....very much the same way he's using the FDM as a way to get reward JYD's in the Yard. The problem is, he couldn't just hold inventory forever, hoping more people made JYD in the future. Thus, now we get our FDM serialized accordingly. So, any coins, tags, etc in the future would have the exact same issue of the original coins. JYD now might get their number, but in 2-3 years folks would be scrambling for their numbers.
EDIT for clarity: Dan never intended the JYD to have a "hide and seek" approach to get their coins. It's just that years have now passed...so Dan is now rewarding the new faction of JYD's with a serialized Blade!! Wait until 2015 when we're all showing off our JYD FDMs, and newbies are gonna be crying on the forum about not having one <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> heeheheh. Actually, I would garner that several OLD JYD's won't even get a FDM, because they don't come around anymore <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> SO, we can flash our FDM's at them too <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
