I know I may be flamed for this but it seems to me that lately the focus of this site has morphed into focusing on post count.
Just sayin.
It's my busy season and I don't check this site out as much as I do in the winter, but it seems that lately a high pecentage of the posts and threads are about achieving JYD and not much else. Yeah! But it gives us such fun stuff to read, and introduces us to more good folks... Besides, some of us have always been around since registration, just don't post much... I registered to this forum shortly before Dan announced the FDM... I made the run to JYD shortly after that announcement and never looked back. I originally wasn't going to bother making the run as I didn't really care about getting a JYD # engraved on the FDM..... But I'm really glad I did because making the run gave me an opportunity to get to know many of the great people that are here on this forum. My experiences on this forum have been nothing but positive, and I find myself on here daily now just to check in. I want to thank Dan for encouraging us to post more through his offer.....I'm so proud to be an ACTIVE member of the Scrapyard community. I'm sure others that have made the run feel the same way about it..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Well said AFF....I can only echo this post just came here to learn about SYKCO knives cuz I just bought one second hand and wanted to know more about what a great knife I had. Some real fine folks here. Think I'll hang out on the porch for a bit and see what I can learn from the big dogs. The JYD on a knife is an honor as I see it and a great offer from Dan. No one can have a knife like this. Thanks Dan and SYKCO and all the great members in this forum for letting me hang out. Peace.

I Think that most of came here and wasn't worried about getting JYD status. Somewhere along the line that changed for one reason or other. I'd get there eventually, been lurking for a while and did post a little every now and then... FDM has motivated me to get to JYD, but it's not like I've stopped there! I would probably ramble a lot more if I could find the [censored] time... Between my day job, and an overly attentionhungry girlfriend, there ain't much time.
My goal must be JYD before Blade '13.
But it IS nice to see a lot of new faces here, and good to see a lot of them contributing, even after achieving JYD status! The Yard had been a little quiet, before the Sip&Talk. That one kickstarted the Yard, I think.
Having only one pancake, leaves more room for bacon!
