When me and Mrs Pit were sorting what to take on our Banff trip I'd suggested she took my Ryan Weeks High Uinta knife, it's a great sized knife for most tasks you find yourself doing in the bush. Mrs Pit, however, decided that she wanted a larger knife and chose my Swamprat Ratmandu. During the trip she switched the Ratmandu for my little Swamprat Vex which just happens to be the same size as the Uinta........go figure !!!
Anyway today I decided to take both these knives out and do a little trap making etc.
Found lots of tasty small plums at the start of the hike, these made a great trail snack !

Both of these knives work great for bushcraft type tasks !

I'm usually a fan of thick handles, the one on the Uinta is awesome. The Swamprat Vex, however, has a fairly slim handle but for some reason it still works well for me. The more I use this knife the more I like it. It's slim profile makes you unaware you are carrying it yet the size is perfect for most tasks I find myself doing.
