Highly recommend simply contacting Jeff via email...he'll work whatever details you want into a sheath, and give you options for what is within the realm of possibilities before you solidify your order.

Leather is always nice for a pork shank or ANY steel!

Okay. I'll bring this back again. I originally asked for some opinions or thoughts on what I thought I wanted in a leather sheath for my Pork Shanks. Instead of thoughts, opinions, and photos, I received "get one from Rainwalker". That's fine and okay as I really hadn't considered using anyone else for leather.

(I have many kydex sheaths sheaths from Rainwalker, Buy Brown, and Mashed Cat.)

I finally sent Jeff an email and requested that if he'd made any for Pork Shanks, maybe he would post some pics here. Oh, I also told him my ideas for what I wanted and requested that he consider them..... and then give me his thoughts.

Maybe he will post some pics. That would be great!

This is pretty much what I'm wanting, with a snap instead of the magnetic retention +---> http://www.scrapyardknives.com/ubbthread...true#Post567967

Here is one he did for an AD. I am having one made for a Very Nice Vex I just bought! And the 460.

I really like the way it retains and functions, plus it looks good.

I know it is different than what you are looking for.

That may not be 'exactly' what I want, but it is beautiful. I really like the rivets/eyelets. That's what makes all my kydex so easy to wear or mount however I want.

Your "Very Nice Vex" will look great in something like that. Just keep it protected from rusting.

As much as I like leather, I have just always used kydex due to its versatility and utility. While leather may have a few issues which are trumped by kydex...leather is beautiful, quiet, and feels good to the touch. I've waited too long to put a Busse, SR, or SY in leather, and the Pork Shank is the perfect knife for me to do so.

Thanks for the photos.

For leather:

Rainwalker does some awesome stuff.

Leatherman is great also.

It's really hard to go wrong with either...
