The axe is usually bigger, longer and rides in the pack or strapped to the pack. I don't know.......your making my brain hurt. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

now the axe is way cheaper than the big chopper, a very good gransfors bruks is like 90 bucks and you know what a good chopper costs, even the Dog Father. An axe was made for chopping and is as easy to carry as a big chopper. Of course you would carry a smaller knife to go with the axe, for carving, slicing and what not. Not saying chopper is bad, just debating the both!

a good axe (hunters, camping, mini) is not heavy, lighter than many big choppers so weight goes to axe too.

you can carry your axe on your belt or strapped to your body as easily as a big chopper, but most would carry both in their pack or car.

Not saying chopper is bad, just debating the both! I've got three gransfors axes, I really like the quality. When I got mine the price was quite high. I guess if we are cutting down trees, I would also choose an axe.....but, if we are clearing scrub....I might be prone to favor the lighter chopper.
