I thought the powder metallurgy of the elmax was designed with edge retention and strength in mind. I was pretty impressed with the 0560 I had with it. Never had small infi though.

Nice PS, I just dont think I could sleep in one. I prefer my stomach and or side and am pretty restless. I have thought about it though.

I may be wrong on this, but I'm pretty sure INFI has to beat ELMAX in just about everything except maybe stain resistance.... Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'm pretty sure the ductility of INFI gives it such great edge retention.

That hammock is a nice setup. I have a big agnes single man tent, but it is on the ground. Gonna have to take a look at these.

Me too, but in the hammock I sleep on my back. You lay kind of sideways in it so your flat. I hang it in the shop sometimes for naps <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Yeah I got tired of sleeping on the ground. This is much better. We had thunder storms last night and I was cozy and dry I think I would have gotten wet in a tent.

I'm a side sleeper on beds, but hammocks allow me to sleep on my back...

I have a tarp and bivy setup. I need to set it up and take some pics. I made the bivy myself. And I made my sleeping quilt. I have a solo tent design I want to make. If you cant tell I like to do things myself, makes it funner for me

Gonna make a jacket or backpack Jeff? That's what a lot of people make in addition to the sleeping quilt/bag

Pumpkin patch was fun. Going to wait till next week to carve them. Which blade to pick to carve now...lol I dont have any blade really capable of this right now. I have been looking at a 4.5" slip joint with a nice thin blade for such work. An elmax from the yard would have probably been just right. I agree, another reason to get more knives, lol

I'm sure there's a infi vs elmax edge retention thread some where. IIrc, elmax has better edge retention at a higher HRC. I'm not a metallurgist, so correct me if I'm wrong.
