This has always been what blows my mind. Criminals don't follow laws so laws like this only unarm the law abiding citizens.

picked up my computer and everything is bacon. apple replaced the hard drive, logic board, and a cable i screwed up when I thought I was going to have to swap the drive myself. the parts alone would've been anywhere from $600-$1000. add labor and I'd be pretty sick if I had to pay for this myself.
