I beat the living garbage outta my MO KDSH this past weekend tearing down some old palettes and an old door. just remembering what it was like during katrina without power. things get really quiet. there's no refrigerator hum, hvac fans, or tv in the background to drown out your thoughts. just candle light and the voice (or voices for some of you) in you head. That's what I remember most about Wlma down here ( other than 2 weeks of no power) , you don't realize when you live in a populated area how much light pollution there is till its gone. It was like the sky exploded with stars, especially the first few nights when no one had power, you could see so many.

Jared, I hear you about the stars. That is one of the things I most missed when I was in the AF. You couldn't many times see the stars for the city lights.
