If the same group wins (loses but stays in power) again they'll probably will introduce a 'Breathing Tax'... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
Seriously, there should be a rule that the winning party form the government! Yup... We have that... The breathing tax. And every other tax also.

Prior to this government we had a minority government with the official opposition being a separatist party that only was elected in one province
Nothing got accomplished as the governing party had to keep making deals with at least 1 of the 3 opposition parties

So, Romney has the actual people's vote by 1%, but Obama won on the electoral votes with a land slide.

So its two layers of representative democracy. That system seems quite unfair to the smaller parties out there, they don't really have a chance ever since its a very small representation of the people who do the actual vote. Can anyone explain why the popular vote isn't being used? It seems more accurate and fair. Edit: I guess it comes down to the fact that each state can govern its own people and therefore they need equal say in the election of the president.
