Stays sharp pretty good and it does sharpen up fairly easily. Course all I use are diamond and ceramic hones.

For locking my hand to the handle I'd want an Emerson. Great integral guards on his blades! The CRK as tactical blades always worried me but if you say the umnamzam locks your hand in, I believe you. I've never handled a CRK anyway
