Well... I would have been. But they don't pay holiday pay if you're on vacation or a sick day. Sooooo I'm gonna work Christmas night and get paid for 16 hours and only work 8. Our holidays (pay wise) are Monday, Tuesday AND Wednesday. Then I'll be on vacation the rest of the week.

Evening guys! Thinking about maybe getting my step son ( from my wife's first marriage when she was 20) a .22 rifle ( he just turned 12) of course he would only be able to touch in under my supervision and it would be locked up in my safe. Any suggestions ( brand, price range, etc) would be great for a research starting point. It's one of those things that in light of recent events, I want to de- mystify guns for him and get him involved

I own a remington 597 and love it but a 10/22 is hard to beat.

Thanks Jared! Personally my first was a detachable box magazine bolt action. the safety factor of only MANUALLY having one round chambered unless YOU do it is pretty nice, specially for someone not familiar with guns. Just my two cents. Barrels on long guns can get waived around more than you would think, specially for a younger shooter if they get excited.

I was thinking about that last night ( waving the barrel) I could see any kid getting excited and turning around with one in their hands, that may be the way to go Randy
