I was surprised that they let them go on for as long as they did. ( not that I don't agree with them and that the majority of people here do as well) but from Dans point of view, if someone finds this site, and feels alienated because if political posts, it may cost him buisness. While I don't agree with this, Michael Jordan famously said when asked about politics " Republicans buy shoes too"
It is not only that
Remember when the regulator TT test results were first allowed to be published.
There was 1 or 2 individuals that had VERY strong opinions on the design and despite repeated warnings to ease up, at least 1 was eventually banned.

It was sad for a number of reasons including
it helped end the whole test team concept
at least 1 long time member was banned
It almost tore apart this forum.

In my opinion this is the best forum on the internet, with a great bunch of guys
If the forum owners and moderators decide to play it safe for want of a better word, in order to keep this site so friendly
I am all for it

Yeah man, that was a pretty crazy time here

That's what I was thinking, thanks man
You're welcome. What do you have in mind for new slabs?

I'm wanting to do a bolster of some kind of wood ( probably some kind of burl, redwood maybe, or walnut) and sheep horn for the rest. Kind of like this bk17 I did awhile back

[Linked Image from i1010.photobucket.com]

Trick is finding a piece of horn 1.7 inches wide by 5+ long to fit

I don't remember the board being torn apart. i do remeber a few bullheaded folks. one of them I liked that just couldn't accept that people have different opinions. The way that was handled here was one of the reasons I stuck around.

i just started to avoid those recent posts like I had avoided those tt reg posts. i know the intent meant well but I prefer to see an approach that inspires rather than agitates.

if somebody only wants to tell me about all the negative things in the world I have to wonder why that's what they want to talk about. eventually they become the message instead of just being thee messenger. that's why I usually laugh a lot while watching the news. but it's does make me sad that some don't have the filters to sort through this nonsense. and now instead of being proactive there have a lot of reactive efforts that completely miss the mark in my opinion.

I've sort of been MIA the last couple days. Had to put Patty in the hospital about 0600 Monday morning. She has the Flu (yup, the shot she had seems to not have worked) and Pneumonia in both lungs. The doctor says she MIGHT get to come home Thursday.
