I was chopping up a 1x6 piece of lumber I think it did it on a knot but I didnt notice it until I was all the way through the board

I was chopping up a 1x6 piece of lumber I think it did it on a knot but I didnt notice it until I was all the way through the board So it still did its job...kinda. I had an original Ontario RTAK break on me and it was a clean sheer break about an inch in front of the handle...totally unusable. There was a 9 inch piece of The blade with no handle and the handle with about a one inch blade....Good thing I was in my back yard.

That sounds alot like the first guy that chipped out the edge on his...... definitely send that in and get a replacement.

Yup I will. I use my knives some people might say its abuse. I try not to abuse them but chopping and batoning is hard on knives. So its good to have a warranty you can trust. That being said you still wont catch me chopping through cars and cement blocks lol.

On a serious note though, it does remind me when we label each other- it pushes us further apart...labels are the same thing as talking to each other, getting to know each other, hearing point of views etc... When I was still fostering a psych nurse I knew wrote a great article on the art of labeling

Is that the second 1311 that has had the same damage in that same area of the blade?
