I'm thinking more price than anything. The Model 60LS will run about $750-$800, where the SP101 will be around $450-500 (from what the shops here have them)

I have the 2.5 inch SP101 in 357. Great pistol. Very accurate for a snubby.

AND from some pics I just looked at, it seems as if they now have one with a lock just above the cylinder release. Mine does not.
