I'm told you can drop in a 9mm barrel in a 40 and switch mags and it will work with some extraction issues. If you change extractors it should be ok. Seems odd to me but supposedly it works.

I see they make 9mm kits for the 23 so I was leaning that way.

My M&P is the same way for the 357 sig, it is just a necked down 40 so just a barrel change and you are GTG. now 40 to 9 is a different story in the M&Ps anyways.
