Yes and I missed listening to music as it was ment to be heard.

The one I got is an ion it seems to work pretty good.

just make sure you can find needles for that player. clean the records with a proper cleaner and keep your needles clean. record WAVE files and don't add any processing to the original files. if you want to process them duplicate the originals and mess with the duplicates.

iTunes is a great mp3 convertor. I also use a program called audio gate to trim files and add fades. another program I keep handy is audacity. I have used a ton of software and those are still my go to programs.

nope... a wave would be the full frequency range. the same quality or better (depending on the audio device). mp3's are hacked down versions create to save space for smaller more portable devices. they add artifacts and cut off the top and bottom of the frequency range.

I love that I can still find some current stuff, Metallica, tool, type of negative, etc....... Plus a lot of the classics are easy and cheap to get it pulled out my dark side of the moon that I got at a yard sale for 1 dollar and man it sounded good one small pop but no skipping at all.

Yep I heard they do the same on cds so good wave files it is with 1tb of storage file size should be no problem.

actually a wave file is pretty much what's on a CD.

one reason people tend to prefer records is due to the analog distortion which sounds smoother and comes across as character. this was gone from higher quality recordings that got remastered for cd but there is actually usually more detail to the audio. mp3's come across as harsh because of hacked off frequencies.
