All of a sudden the hundreds of dollars that I wasted on the rod and reel wasn't such a waste after all.

Gave me a thrill when she asked for her own rig, and wanted on just like mine.

I told her we didn't have that kind of money to waste on toys, which is what she told me when I bought my rig.

Then she batted those big browns at me and said something I never thought I'd hear cross her lips.

She said "I'm sorry, I see why you wanted that rod and reel so much now."

Could have knocked me over with a feather. As a joke, I bought her a kids, pink, plastic, Little Mermaid (Princess Ariel?) tackle box. She loved it and uses to this day.

Now if I can only get her into knives...

she keeps complaining about how I'm wasting money on knives. My buds understand, my boys understand (and borrow), and grandsons understand. And either we're all nut, along with all of you, or I'm just not a good salesman.

Actually I'm a lousy knife salesman. I don't sell any of my knives, I use them all. I don't ever get safe queens.

I need Dan to make a pink handled filet knife to get my wife hooked on Busse steel.

...and a filet knife for me, but not in pink please.

Something manly, like fluorescent green, bright yellow, or red (to hide the blood). Black, tan or pretty much anything other that pink will do for me.
