didn't go fishing this morning. was a stupid nice day out for it but i will be going tomorrow.

Weren't you talking about a cast iron skillet the other day?

leaning towards the duchy oven side I don't have one and can use it for a few different type of cooking.

on the other hand a deep fryer costs about the same and would be pretty convenient.

They are great. Seems like the more you use them the better they work. Or maybe you just get to know them better.

was thinking a about a little bit bigger cast iron skillet then rth mentioned he used a dutch oven until he got a deep fryer.

I used to have a deep fryer but never replaced it when it broke.

What have you found that's worth looking at?

over the last three years or so i found a show called americas test kitchen. in the show they take classics recipes and perfect them. they also test gear and brands of foods. i pretty much loom at there recommendations and go with those.

great show and good website if you are into cooking...
