Curious...would the Dog Bootie work as a good dive knife? Has anyone wrapped a handle with paracord yet? (I haven't seen one) Has anyone stripped one? How rust resistant is that special super cool new metal? I think I wanna get one, strip it, wrap it, blunt the tip, and take it to the water with me. Actually...could also add a few serrations to the top edge also...hmmm. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Those knives were the dive knife to have in the 80s. The sheath is pretty cool. The flap the says Tekna is hinged and has a nub that locks into a hole on the handle. The top of the nub is ramped so you just slide the knife in. I believe it is a 3.5" blade and 7.25" oal.
Which appears to be what the Bootie is. I think the Tekna might be a little thicker.

Dive knives are all about the sheath. There is no way that I would take a SY diving with me after all the knives I have left in the ocean.
Those Booties look too sharp for me too. I would probably cut an air hose or stab a dive buddy with one.

My diveknife is a dagger with a plain edge and a serrated edge. No blunt tip... It is a Katz Avenger. I'll post a picture later today.
It works perfect!
I don't know if the Sandvik steel like the saltwater... But give a go!
