I'm editing this thread to try to generate more discussion. Tom/Randy if this needs to be moved elsewhere - please feel free (as if you need my permission ).
I'm interested in seeing what everyone is using for their "woods bumming", hunting, hiking, camping, survival gear, etc sheaths.
Pics are great, but descriptions work too.

OK, here's a couple: My Lost Mountain Iron Works sheath A couple of my own made sheaths; the straps are for A.l.i.c.e. clip attached pouches, etc.

other than knowing I could beat something to death with my rainwalker sheath in order to survive I don't have a survival sheath. here's a picture of my sheath/leather club. ![[Linked Image from i774.photobucket.com]](http://i774.photobucket.com/albums/yy22/izal_601/93942e29.jpg)

Tom - I knew someone would tease me with the ever elusive Lost Mountain sheath.
Lazi - LOL. That's just funny.

I just edited the original post in an attempt to generate a little more discussion.
Most of my current sheath options can be cleanly divided into two categories: custom kydex and SpecOps Combat Master. However, with my recent acquisition of several Busse Combat blades (without sheaths) I'm rethinking my options.
I ordered a couple of Savage leather sheaths made to my specifications for my NMSFNO and Fat ASH-1. However, these are specifically for "casual" walking about in the local State Park, etc.
I'm trying to decide what to do for my hard-core survival gear. I've contemplated a leather wrapped kydex and even custom made cordura wrapped kydex, but am looking to see what you all have come up with.
Lets see some sheaths or at least hear about them!

I sold my B11 and LMIW sheath set up when I started having all kinds of bills coming in for my medical stuff. Long story short is I really like the Baldric style and with 1311 I am trying to figure out what to do. I think it will be carried on a pack especially once I get to feeling better, and when the blade shows up. I know it sounds weird but one of the things that is keeping me going is the fact that I will be able to get out and chop something soon.

I think I will make my 13-11 sheaths like these, maybe one brown and one black. SHOW OFF! (but it looks nice though). Now if you could just get the Challenge coin embossed on there...

I have a small backpack bag (about 5 inches long X 3 wide and about 3 thick that I can run through a loop. Fits real nice on my Bulldog sheath with the X loops. Plus the little FAK I always carry. I can start fires, very light first aid (I need to put a space blanket in that little bag, or use a second small pouch) and I will be good to go for short hikes.

I'm thinking about possibly adding a sewn-on loop with a snap, so that you can use various types of pouches.

Tom, you could sew a few strips of 1" nylon webbing across the front (spaced 1" apart) and stiched "vertically up the sheath" to make a hybrid leather/MOLLE capable sheath. Seemingly everything made today has MOLLE/PALS on it and nearly all pouches are now MOLLE/PALS compatible.
