Bring your CGFBM in a drop leg sheath!

HAHA. That will definitley make an impression. I bet if you spray painted flowers on the sheath you might be able ot pull it off.

I'm not even taking anything that I care about on this trip because I'm scared that I'll break some obscure California law! I'm bringing my beat to heck Cold Steel Voyager, 4" tanto, just so I have something sharp in the car! I think I'll bring the CRKT M16-14SFA as my EDC, but I think I've heard that you can't carry a knife protruding from your pocket or some nonsense in CA. Sheesh!

Maybe I'll bring the RAT3 instead. I don't know. I need to do some more research I think!

My brother is visiting right now and was checking out the CGFBM last night - he was pretty impressed! We went to the woods the other day and gave the Dogfather and Ranger RD9 a good workout, and the BATAC and RAT5 did quite a bit of cutting as well (a representative from each of my 4 favorite knife companies!) We tried making some fire with sticks - lots of smoke, no fire. We kept melting the 550 cord that we had on our bow (and drill), and the fire saw about made my arms fall off. I think we'll get it figured out soon though.

Anyways, I'm hoping that the trip goes well - we're leaving in about 10 hours!

Any folder under 4" will work that's not a switchblade.

Yup. Worked over some wood, then I polished the spine up to the handle. Next up is some butcher work on some frozen wild game.

I'll be using it before too long - if anything, I want to get a good chopping session in just to ensure that there aren't any air pockets near the edge or anything like that - for when I decide to take it out for a camping trip or something like that.

DF just does such a good job though!

Yay! The thread that refuses to die! And with that, I'm home from a weekend of sun on Pender Island and am heading to bed. Talk to you all tomorrow.
