ooh good idea! I need to try that, it is hard to remove the regular way.. I think that's the point. Weren't they originally made for holsters? Not the sort of thing you want randomly falling off.

Uh oh. Now that I have seen a pic of the two side by side, I am not sure the SS4 is robust enough for what I am looking for. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Well, I am looking for a utility/deer hunting/survival knife. Something thats a good cutter, but can be really tough if I need it to be. I don't want to carry more than one knife hunting, but I hunt some big woods, so If i get lost, or hurt, I need a knife I can depend on to do whatever I need it too.

This is 3/16" thick so it's the same thickness as the TAK. The TAK does have more weight, but comparing INFI to 1095 or D2 not sure which version of the TAK you have is heavily weighted towards the INFI. I can't imagine the SS4 letting you down in the tough department. The SS4 is definitley more of a slicer than a bigger knife would be. The TAK is a nice knife though, mine is D2.

Cool, I can always buy a SS4, handle it, and if I don't like it, resell without loosing a penny.

you won't sell it terry! I'm here handling both, TAK in D-2 and the SS4 in INFI. And I can tell you whatever the TAK can do, the SS4 can do better IMHO. Yes it is slightly smaller but I feel that is an advantage, less weight, take up space and feel on your person if you wear it. It will do the jobs you mentioned and then some!
