Number 139 is chopping great but I can never leave well enough alone and will convex it soon.

Mine was great but that did not stop me from stropping it. I am taking it out tomorrow and chop something!

Mine all had good edges. My user was perfectly sharp in most places, especially the hot spot, where it really counts. From the ricasso to about 3" up was not quite as sharp as the rest of the blade. No big deal. Five minutes of sharpening sorted that out.
I left the edge with the factory grind and didnt thin it out because my user 1311 is a chopper!

The 2 I received were good, surprisingly the unnumbered 1311 is sharper than #146. no big deal, it still gets the job done!

Sharp but that's a THIN EDGE!!! I wasn't expecting it to be so thin I guess. How can you convex such a thin edge???

Mine was sharp I guess. I didn't test it before I honed it. I never leave the factory/shipped edge on any blade. The knife makers can't afford to put the love I put into the edge. I'd expect I would have had to wait much longer to get my 1311 if they did, not to mention the hike in price.

The last several knive models I have rec'd from the Yard would not even push or pull cut the paper the knives were wrapped in for shipping. I really started noticing it around the time the 511s came out. I have been disappointed in the sharpness lately.
I did write Renee and she said send them back in for sharpening and they would take care of me. I sent some knives back to be sharpened and they did come back a little sharper.
I can put a pretty good edge on with my paper wheel set-up so it is not like I cannot sharpen the knives myself. But, I have been telling my friends and family about ScrapYard and have even given a few knives as gifts -- it is not very good workmanship when the knives do not come very sharp when new.
