Thanks to all of you for your prayers. Karen is able to eat now, and though very weak, she is getting some pain relief. I spoke with her today, and she actually appreciated those prayers. I assured her that she would be alright, knowing that none of us knows when our number is up, but God knows. Thanks again, Dogs. Looks like she will at least have one more Christmas. I pray for all of you, even though I don't personally know all of you.

I guess the prayers for me helped, too. Had my VA checkup today. Lost 23 lbs eating beef, pork, bacon and eggs and drinking lots of beer. BP down, too. Go figure. Low carbs (less bread, rice, grits, mashed potatoes) seems to really work. I did increase fruits and vegetables to offset the carb cravings. It helped to have a caring, loving partner, too.
