Took a trip out to Santa Cruz to do some winter fishing. Waters were calm as could be for this time of year and a great day Fishing. Just about the only reason I still like living here is you get to do this in December!

We went out for Rock Cod and Ling Cod. I caught this monster



Tricky little buggers to catch as they usually dont get hooked, but refuse to let go of the bait!<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

And with these teeth I dont think you want to pull the hook out with your hands!



A little Filet action



The Charter we took, The Mega Bite. We caught 6 Ling Cods which is very rare for one boat with 6 anglers. It must have been all the rock cod bait fish I was catching while everyone else was catching keepers. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" /> Lucky for them I did catch bait for the Ling cods!



Returned to the Harbor and picked up some live Crabs for a complete seafood dinner!



He was a fiestly little bugger but my WEENIE is indestructable!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />





Thats what he gets for clamping onto my Weenie!

The WD processes fish with ease! The collars on these fish can be very hard to get through....Not so with the WD!

The WD is by far my favorite Fish cleaning knife when not filleting.

Nice catch I miss fishing for ling cod the best bait we found in alaska was rock bass about 5 to 8 lbs then the big lings will come calling.

Yeah, Grease fishes for small fish.

Shoot, if I caught a fish that weighed 5-8 pounds I would think I caught Moby Dick! (Or Shamu at least)

yep the lings get big off of seward alaska.


These Lings run on average between 40 - 55 lbs pounds and produce top notch action.

this one is 71 lbs

GREASER!!!! HOLY COW! ya they rarely get that big here! And Yes Ling cod is one of the best fish I have ever eaten!!!
