I have a love affair with certain knives ive gotten over the years best knife for the buck was the ratmandu for me. The last offerings to me have been unoriginal i see so little variance i have a hard time considering spending money on them. Believe me i have tried and seen every one of them friend owns a knife shop. I think i want to see some truly different products what go t me interested was stuff like the scrap muk and the regulater bowie. Taking tried and true designs and putting awesome steel on it. Things id love to see would be like a spear point bushcraft uk ish design or larger muk hell even an axe would be cool. Different grinds would be nice to see a true scandi would be great. I dont know just disapointed in the knives lately just have not seen anything truly cool just been disapointed of late.

Well, I get your point. But the '11 series just works and embodies that Scrapyard stands for.
I don't think Dan is going for the 'design of the year' award, so I think he will keep it basic and simple. But we have yet to see the 611, so who knows.?

And he has thrown both Elmax and a dagger out there, which is pretty different from the usual offerings.

KDH, 13-11, Rattle Hawk, Wardog, El-MAX with a WD handle. Dan has been kicking butt and the Swamp hawks are pretty darned nice. If we could get the Swamp to release a knife it might ne nice.

Miles...

Have you not seen the FLYING MOJO? That thing is insane different / crazy. Pretty too <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Hopefully something comes along soon to meet your needs. Do you even know what that is? An idea? I have to agree with some of the other comments, Dan has brought Elmax, daggers, wardog, the 1311...I mean...those are pretty unique and awesome. The 11 series aren't any slouches either...basic, true...but needed.

Ishikawasan, BOG DOG, now THAT would be nice. 4.0 inch blade of 1/8 inch elmax steel with of course, the Mudder grips! I MIGHT even try for two of those! I mean the name DOG is in it so the Swamp shouldn't have a problem with Dan bringing this highly sought after blade to life once again. Call it whatever you want, but BRING IT! (OK, 4.5 inch blade would work as well).

Funny you mention the Bushcraft design, I've often thought that Busse-Kin's SR101 would be the perfect steel for a Scandi bushcraft blade, not sure which handle they could use, you'd maybe want something like a Regulater handle but without the guards.

I couldn't agree more, the 1311 is definitely ground breaking and kicks serious butt especially considering the price it was offered at.

The Swamp Rat hawks are not a regurgitation of anything that I have seen personally.

The Elmax are a huge change from the seriously thick stocks of most Bussekin desigins.

True, there is no denying that a lot of releases are just variations of designs that have already been offered.

That's not to say though that there hasn't been many innovative designs to come lately..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/chill.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/footinmouth.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" />
