I missed the boat on the 1311s. Is bladeforums "For sale" subforum the best place to pick one up?

I'm new to the whole knife stuff and was researching steels while the timer was ticking down and they stopped selling 1311s. I wish they would mark stuff clearer on the website. Limited time only or something... :-(

They come up for sale at blade forums quite often. There's a dedicated busse/swamp rat/scrap yard section in the exchange.

I'd recommend looking at the exchange for one as SP mentioned.

The going rate for them started at $280 when they first started popping up for sale there, but now it seems that you can get them for $225 to $240.

Anywhere in that ballpark would be pretty good deal considering that Dan said they would have retailed for $240 regular price, but were offered for $200 for customer appreciation.

But just to echo the other guys, the Exchange at Bladeforums is your best bet. They did give a one week warning before they pulled me though.

They did give a one week warning via the forum and email, but they didn't pull it for a few days after it was scheduled to come down.

At least at this point the markup has really came down in the world of Bussekin.

Wacki...Howdy and Welcome to the Scrap Yard! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> As others suggested, try the Bladeforums/Busse forum and then check the subforum " Busse, Swamp Rat, Scrap Yard knives for sale". Good luck! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Welcome to the Yard. Good luck with getting one. Hint: buy 'em now. In a couple months prices will be going up--prices are somewhat depressed with Christmas.

So ya know, these cost folks $215 shipped from the Yard. Figure someone will have to pay shipping. Also consider someone put up the cash for that thing a few months ago and hasn't been able to use it since. Mark ups aren't that big now. I'd guess, judging by the pricing of Dogfathers, that they'll be over $300 by June <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I've got no dog in this fight though. I sold off all the ones I got (except my user) to other Dogs or I'd help hook ya up. Just making an observation <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Wacki, Welcome to the Yard! Yeah the knives are good, really good. But the PEOPLE are really really great. Come for the knifes (we all did) and stay for the friendship!

Here's a link to the Busse/swamprat/Scrapyard subforum on BF.
