1. Inlet the stock so you can heat and bend the bolt handle down at a sharp angle, making the knob end almost pointing straight down.
Another good idea. I was thinking about that myself. This will happen.

2. Is it possible (after bending the bolt handle) to drill a hole letting the entire action/barrel slide into the stock from the butt end and stick out through the pistol grip area into the barrel channel (forestock).

Nope. There isn't a straight path in there. Plus, there is plastic in the way where the rear bolt holds the barrel onto the stock.

more thought on my suggestions... so yup, i would still glue a velcr strap to the front. but on the rear i would have the strap that was able to double as a sling.

or how's about a strap from the forend to the stock that can work as a strap or as a sling...

JJ, does the hook end of the tape measure move at all?

Nope. It use to, but I smashed the rivets down a long time ago.

Figured as much. But nothing ventured nothing gained.

I would look and either drilling some .22lr sized holes in the stock to stick ammo in or a way to attach ammo right to the stock.

Good idea. I can also make a shotgun style thingy from Kydex and mount it in the stock.

What you need to do is get it to fit into one of those plastic (enclosed) rifle carriers like they use on 4wheelers. But it would need to be a lot smaller.

Like the one Mossberg uses for some of their marine shotguns.

think would go with a cloth or vynil wrap over a container.

for the two hex screws holding the reciever to the stock. how about putting longer screws in and then just cutting them off to allow some the threading to stick through the stock. can maybe use wing nuts to hold it. they will also acts guides for quicker assembly. would probably want drill a couple holes in stock if they meet up there.

I say go with the folding stock for the same reason you mentioned above. Gotta protect those guts.

I think either a folding stock or detachable stock is the way to go. Both protect the guts.

If you could fabricate (or have one done) a twist and lock device, sort of how the barrel attaches to the 10/22. Cut the stock just behind the trigger guard area (or as close as the mounting bolt will allow).
