Reminds me to add the Basic 08 to the list.

Carry is not an issue for me...as it would likely be in the pack (at least, that's how I carry my machete, 7-11 and the B-11 back in the day). Granted, every ounce should matter...I'm just bad at packing light. Anyhow, that's off topic.

I will have to spend more time learning to become a bit more proficient at smaller tasks with the 1311.

Hmmm..Basic 08. Will we ever see it?

Ishi, I have all the knives you listed and really like them all. However, given your criteria I would choose the 7-11; it is a GREAT knife!

Good to hear. Part of me wondered if this was one of those "weak" moments where I just want, to want...not because I need. Got me craving a B-08 though!!!

Thanks Klink!

Bah, just order one ( TGLB) and be done with it! That's what I finally did last week, couldn't hold out any longer.

Get a Test Team Regulator and don't look back. I prefer the differentially treated Sr101 to INFI. The Regulator handle can't be beat for comfort.

I just did some serious wood processing with the 1311 and I will say it is a great chopper and I like the added length for battoning but may hand got "the stinging bees" from it. I also did some food prep and the 1311 did well too.

For in hand feel you can't beat ResC and the Regulator handle is tops. I love a full flat grind too.

I have owned INFI and sold it all. I have also owned micarta and g10 and sold that too (although I love my Vex). Dan the Hack has done a great job and from a utility standpoint his blades are bar none.

Nice thing about Bussekin is you can try and resell and not loose a thing.

And I know it's overstated, but you can always get all of or most of your money back on a busse.

Lol I keep thinking about doing this I loved the TG when it was introduced (most people hated it but won't admit that now) but besides coolness look the TT Reg has it beat.

Definite coolness factor with the TG, I have a handleless TT reg in the garage and a reg handle that I plan on either fitting a kukri to or having someone make one to fit it

Good thoughts. I had the Mil Reg, and could not get used it. LOVED the handles, but I'm just not much a fan of bowies. This may take the Ratweiler out of the mix....

I've been all over the map. I don't mind Micarta for a 7" knife, since it's not primarily a chopper. My first Busse was a Tankbuster...sold it long ago because I needed the money for other assets.

Hiking / camping...weight matters. This is where the hidden tangs / res-c really shine. Hrmmm...

I'd say the 7-11 would be most practical.

I've never had a Ratweiler, but the Chopweiler I had seemed to be the perfect do all blade.

I LOVED the Tali-Whacker, I should've never sold it. The tip on the new one looks like its more robust than the original, which makes it less useful imo. I really liked everything about the original

I'd really like to see a TGLB without the top guard. If it could be had that way at the same price it would be mine.

My vote goes to the Ratweiler.

I'm getting a Tali-whacker no matter what- but what role do you see it in? Does it have a big knife feel? Pure fighter? I know nothing about them except..I want one!

LOL Rich...I'm there with ya. Then I realized that I end up selling anything I never use....so it has me really considering the features of each.

You and me (and a bunch of other folks) do that, no?! And the beat goes on... at least we are predictable, I guess! I've been looking hard at my new ZT and thinking "I don't like that pinky burn dang it!!"

IF you can carry two, Just get a 911 and a 4-5 incher. The 711 would work, but if you are taking two, why not have the extra two inches of blade. I think I said the 711 and a 4-5 incher earlier, but I meant the 911 if you are packing two knives. Heck you could even go down to the 311 and still have things covered.
