My Chopweiler is my favorite all around blade. Great at chopping, nice for food prep. Great for all around work. Ratweiler might get the nod (although, like you, I'm not a fan of clip points). If there's ever a need to break glass, not sure I'd want Res-c
Not sure you can really go wrong.

If they would get rid of that darn choil that 611 would be about perfect I think this about many blades that come out of Wauseon, but the choil kills it for me over and over again.......

The Swamp Rat Vex has a choil done right. It's definitely one of the better choils out there but I'd still rather have a choilless Vex, that would be AWESOME!

I think the SOD or 711 are the most functional if you need to take one knife. If you got the option to take 2 , take 911 or 1311 with a 411/311 of scrapper 5.
Where are there picture of the new tali-whacker? I have the original one and think it's a great knife, but never tought that they wel remake that model for the general population...
Kind regards, greets

Used both TGLB and 711 in one session to baton and chop some wood for a fireplace. If you were after do it all blade, I'd go with TGLB. Might come as surprise, but the top guard does not get in the way at all. 711 has an edge in chopping, the Res-C just makes vibration disappear. But TGLB bites deeper, cuts better, can be used to 'chisel', is more aggressive in stabbing, and better balanced. I'd say that you'd have to thin the grind on 711 and reprofile the microbevel to get similar cutting ability to TGLB. Chopweiler with a regrind of microbevel will be there with TGLB, and it is one of the most appreciated do it all blades form the compound of all time! Can't comment on Ratweiler as I never used one, feels good in hand though; and had never seen Taliwhacker in person so no comments here. One thing for sure, TGLB is worth having, great balance and cutting geometry, light and comfy in hand.

i've been wanting to add a chopper to my collection for a while but have held off. how would you say the ratweiler and 911 compare in the chopper role? if new ratweilers are coming, i may just save the extra for it, but is it worth it?

Pics of these anniversary blades were in the march (2013) issue of a knife magazine ( don't know which one). Someone posted pics on BF and here too I think. Anyway search for busse anniversary blades and you should find them.

They were in Blade magazine. Hopefully we don't have to wait until March for them to be released.
