8" why? I heard from sources that a 4" is great and others say a 12" is the best......I don't know because so many lengths are so useful.

I AM TALKING ABOUT KNIVES you sickos!

I thought it odd that both the 11 and Rodent series didn't include an 8" blade. Thinking about, there aren't that many other 8" blades by other companies. Both ESEE and Becker miss out the 8".

I fully realise that most folks fall into the 3-4" or 5-7" flavours, choosing 9+" for a chopper; in this case an 8" blade doesn't really fit. Still, it may be nice to see some.

Though it's not likely I'll be able to afford any new knives in the future <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />. Just hoping that I'll be able to find the funds for the 611 when it appears.

ratweiler is 7.5"

would be nice to compare chopping power and versatility between an 8" and 9"

i think the consensus is that a 7" is more versatile and a 9" better chopper.

does 8" favor one or the other?

The Becker BK5 is 8 inch and is a GREAT multi purpose knife. Much tougher than it looks. Very fast in hand as well.

I think folks that have one said that it does chop surprisingly well.

What's the length on the Chopweiler? I can't measure mine at the moment...
